We left GNP today due to some bogus campground and road closures. We wanted to stay because this was maybe the best bear year ever. We only saw about 10 different grizzlies, but they supplied us with day after day of great viewing opportunities. We took more photos and video than ever before and got some great shots. I'll try to get them posted after we get back home. Staying in Kalispell
tonight. Not sure yet which route we will take home or how long it will take. Weather should be good tomorrow but a little on the cool side. We may just head for Washington, especially if the weather there is warmer.
The tent has been working great. We've been telling people that we have been in it with Striker for almost two months now and we are still married. People say, "You must have a strong marriage." Then we say that the marriage was on the rocks before we left and that the tent saved it. Not true, but it gets a laugh every time. Sad that the trip is coming to an end, but looking forward to seeing friends at home and hitting the trails again. This hasn't been the best trip for hiking. The bears in GNP were mostly by the road and they are hard to pass up, especially when they aren't being seen very often on the trails.
On our last day, Striker crouched down like he was going to pounce on a grizzly. Then he got mad at a bunch of bighorn sheep that were surrounding our car. Got a good picture of that and I'll put it up next chance I get. Here it is along with a pic of the sheep headed towards our car:
